How the numbers are built
Installation is priced per cabinet because that is how the work scales. A standard SEKTION base or wall cabinet runs roughly $125 to $225 to assemble, hang, level and finish, which lands a typical 20-cabinet 10x10 kitchen at $2,500 to $4,500. Tall pantry units, corner solutions, a second row of wall cabinets and islands each add time, so they are added on top.
Old New England houses change the number. Plaster-and-lath walls add about 10 to 15 percent to the cabinet line because every fastener needs a stud and every rail needs shimming; uneven floors add 5 to 10 percent for leveling. Walk-ups add carrying time.
Add-ons use the ranges from our full cost breakdown: demolition $500 to $1,500, bulkheads $600 to $2,000, backsplash $600 to $1,800, appliances $150 to $400 each, countertop templating and install $500 to $1,000. Cabinet and countertop material ranges are for a 10x10 and are scaled to your cabinet count.
